Assignment 2: Sacré-Cœur

The Sacré-Cœur Basilica or the "Basilica of the Sacred Heart" is a Roman Catholic Basilica in Paris, France. The original idea of constructing a church dedicated to the Sacred Heart developed in France after the Franco-Prussian War in 1870 in honor of the 58,000 who lost their lives during the war. The Architect of the basilica, Paul Abadie, died soon after the foundation of the building was laid. The style of architecture is Roman-Byzantine.
